Gourmet Bake Shoppe was formed in the spring of 1993 by pastry chef and
owner Emily De Long.
Chef De Long attributes her success in the culinary field in part to
hard work, dedication and just plain "love of the art". Emily
believes she inherited her natural talent in the pastry and culinary
arts field from her Austrian-born grandmother who herself was a Head
chef in Europe many years ago. She generously gives credit to her talented
team of artisans for their support of the innovative and incredible works
of art that are created.
Her philosophy is simple, the client deserves
to have it all: a great taste, a fabulous design, presentation,
and personalized service. Chef De Long and her cake artisans
take pride in the exact precision of their designs, as well
as the smoothness of the icing.
Some of Emily's edible creations have included
stand-up cake carvings. A few include actor Paul Newman's
race car; an 18-inch high parrot sporting sunglasses for
singer Jimmy Buffett, and a duplication of the world-famous
Chrysler Museum of Art and the Eiffel Tower. |
